PurKine™ Benzamidine Resin 4FF Released

abbkine-bottleBenzamidine is a reversible competitive inhibitor of trypsin, trypsin-like enzymes and serine proteases. It is often used as a ligand in protein crystallography to prevent proteases from degrading a protein of interest.

Abbkine PurKine™ Benzamidine Resin 4FF consists of 90μm beads of highly cross-linked 4% agarose, to which aminobenzamidine has been coupled. It has been designed for one-step removal and/or affinity purification of trypsin, trypsin-like serine proteases, and zymogens including urokinase and prekallikrein from serum, monoclonal cell supernatants and bacterial lysates. Thrombin and factor Xa after tag cleavage of recombinant proteins have also been effectively removed by this resin.

Tests confirm that more than 20mg trypsin can be captured by one milliliter PurKine™ Benzamidine Resin 4FF and no decrease in performance occurs after at least five repeated uses. The highly cross-linked resin is capable of enduring linear flow rates of up to 300 centimeters per hour, which is excellent for scaling-up.
